Five Shadows

I wanted to convey the idea of the individual going into oblivion, into total destruction without anyone remembering them. They would be wiped out from Humanity as if they had never been born.
This wax and oil painting comes from my works entitled 'Genocide' from the 1960s. It was in those years that I became aware of the revival of Anti-Semitism in Europe as well as the spread of Holocaust denial.
